Today’s hour of practice was spent continuing the udemy web development course i have been working on. Today was all about CSS and learning different ways to select elements from the HTML to manipulate using CSS. The exercise consisted of a pre-defined HTML page and I was given a set of instructions on how to make the page look. My job was to type up the CSS to design the page in which the instructions asked me to. I checked my results with the solution page and I was 100% correct, however I do not believe the designer of this exercise was aiming for aesthetics. The finished product looks rather gross and would provide visual discomfort if stared at too long…but i digress. This was an exercise about learning the concepts rather than to be visually pleasing. Hopefully in future exercises we will be working on some CSS to make a website visually nice to look at. Below I placed my exercise in Codepen you so can see the results. Again I only typed the CSS, the HTML was provided. If you would like to try this CSS exercise on your own I placed the instructions at the top of the CSS sheet in codepen and commented it out.

Our first 10 hours down!!! only 9,990 of focused concentrated practice left until we become a professional in the field and hopefully a master at the trade. 0.1% of the way there! If you enjoy following along on this series be sure to clap, follow, subscribe, etc. (mainly etc.)
