Day 180, Jr. Full Stack Dev
4 Days of summer drill left before resuming a normal schedule.
Today I officially accepted a job offer for Jr. Full Stack Software Developer in Pennsylvania!!
I’ll be working with JavaScript, HTML, CSS, NodeJS, SQL, MongoDB, and I am not sure what else yet.
I am very proud and excited to have made it to this point.
To get to this point, I have self studied for six months, and the job tally is as follows:
189 Applications
28 Phone Interviews
4 Technical Interviews
2 Onsite Interviews
2 Job offers
It appears that once I made it to the technical interview, I did very well, 50% success rate. I had a 100% rate of receiving an offer.
In total I spent approximately $400 in online courses and materials such as front end masters, pluralsight, and udemy courses.
Shoutouts and more details for everyone that helped me along the way are on twitter!
In the end, there is no magical solution to becoming a developer. Just consistency and practice.
The journey is different for everyone, but If you are curious of how I went from zero to developer in six months, feel free to check out my previous blog posts. It is a detailed “day by day” guide of what I have accomplished every day since day one.
I want to write more, but drill just ended for the night (late concert, Army Band) and I’m exhausted. More details coming tomorrow. Feel free to drop a comment if there are any specific questions!
